CONSTELLATIONS
We all unconsciously carry emotions, trauma, beliefs and patterns from our family system and ancestors. Oftentimes, issues or patterns we struggle with originate there, whether emotional, physical, mental, spiritual, or relational. Systemic Family Constellation work brings awareness to these hidden dynamics that block the flow of energy and love, then brings about more freedom and flow. This releases burdens that have been carried and can also open you to ancestral strength, resiliency, and love.

In the sacred space of a family constellation workshop, participants invite other participants to represent members of their family system. As the energetic field of that system opens, hidden dynamics related to the participant’s issue become visible. The facilitator supports and guides the representatives so that members of that system move towards right relationship and release patterns and energies that are not theirs to carry.
In addition to working with family systems, Systemic Constellations work is also useful for other systems, such as internal systems, organizations, or with nature. This work is ideally done in its original format of a group setting. However, it can be modified to work with in individual sessions.
Note: In most Constellations workshops, not all participants will be able to set their own personal constellation due to a limited number of constellation spots; also some participants may prefer not to do so. However, all participants may take part in others’ constellations as representatives, which is a powerful and healing experience.
Background: Systemic & Family Constellations work was founded by German psychotherapist Bert Hellinger in the 1980's. It's development was informed by other types of therapeutic work including phenomenological philosophy, Gestalt therapy, psychodrama, family systems theory, and the work of Virginia Satir, among others. Hellinger was also influenced by Zulu beliefs and customs regarding ancestors, after spending 16 years living with them as a missionary in his early adulthood.
My training: I trained for 2 years in Systemic & Family Constellations - in 2018 with Susan Ulfelder at The Hellinger Institute of DC, then in 2019 with Francesca Mason Boring at All My Relations Constellations.

This workshop is 3 hours long; Sandy will give a talk about the constellation work, then facilitate 2 constellations. Those spots will be chosen by lottery among those interested. Other participants may take part in the constellations as representatives, which is a powerful and healing experience.
Systemic Family Constellations 3-week course, Date: TBA. Click here for registration page. In this 3 week series, there will be individual, small, and large group constellating practices. There will also be time for questions and group sharing.
